one that made her case all the more difficult to solve.

Crystal Ann Serrat was born on October 26, 1979,

in Baytown, Texas, and at the time our story takes place, she was living there with her two

beautiful children. She was working as a very successful realtor, working within the family

business, and was a 15-year veteran

of Express Jet Airlines. Though she had recently filed for divorce from her husband, Stephen McDowell,

according to her family, Crystal was content with the life she created for herself, and put her

children above all else, which is why everyone was incredibly concerned when,

on August 25, 2017, Crystal left her boyfriend's home in Baytown, Texas, and was never seen

nor heard from ever again. According to Jeff Walters, Crystal's uncle, he knew something was wrong pretty much from the

moment those calls and messages from family and from clients started going unanswered. Not only did

Jeff work with his niece at Virginia Malone and associates, but from the time she was just 11 years

old, he and his wife had raised Crystal after her parents tragically passed away.
