0:17.0	This is the sound of students from the Bronx High School of Science,
0:22.6	the Beacon School, Harvest Collegiate High School,
0:26.6	and young people from all over the five boroughs of New York
0:29.6	waiting to tell stories with the moth.
0:32.6	Since the early days of the moth,
0:33.6	teams of moth teaching artists have gone into high schools around the country
0:37.5	and worked with young people to develop and craft stories from their lives. In 2012, the moth's
0:43.3	education program was formalized because we believe that young people's stories need to be celebrated
0:48.9	and shared on a wider scale. So this episode is a celebration of the Moth's education program.
0:58.7	In this hour, you'll hear five students who were all part of a special showcase at the
1:03.2	Bell House in Brooklyn, which was packed with hundreds of students, Moth workshop leaders,
1:08.0	and faculty advisors.
1:09.6	Our host was social worker and longtime moth teacher Julian Goldhagen.
1:14.6	As you'll hear, Julian wasn't always comfortable on stage, but he found his groove.
1:19.6	All right.
1:24.6	So today's theme is hidden treasure.
1:29.1	Ooh.
1:30.5	All of our stories this evening are somehow going to relate to this idea.
1:33.7	And I am definitely someone that is full of hidden treasures, believe it or not.
1:38.1	And it brought me back to when I was young, a little little kid, and I was very, very, very painfully shy.
