On July 10, 1951, a man was born that would leave the citizens of northern Italy, scared

for their lives.

So, if you like your coffee hot, but your bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a

morning cup of murder.

Donato Balancia was born on July 10th in 1951 in Petenza Basilica, and when he was five years old, his family moved to northern Italy.

Donato and the life he was subjected to showed the warning signs from the beginning.

He was a chronic bedwetter until the age of 10 or 12, and his mother

would often place his wet mattress on the balcony, so the neighbors could witness his shame.

When he would undress for bed, his own aunt would pull down his underwear so his cousins

could see how underdeveloped he was. He dropped out of high school and when he was just a teen, he was arrested

for stealing a motor scooter from a truck. In 1974, he was arrested again for having an illegal

gun and sometime after that was committed to the psychiatric division of a local hospital,

which he escaped from. When he was recaptured, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for robbery.
