What's up everybody? It's Austin Rivers from the Minnesota Timberwolves. It's a new year and I have a new podcast here at the ringer Offguard, hosted by me and my guide Pasha Higigi. Austin and I go way back and talk so much hoop already that we figure it was time to fire up the mics and let you in on all of these conversations. Every week, Pasha and I will hit on the biggest stories happening in the league. And get Austin's perspective of someone currently hooping in the NBA.

The thing with these quarterbacks this year is it feels like the actual potential outcomes for these guys

1:29.1

is just so extreme it's just the upsides are so high the downsides are so low and maybe that's

1:36.4

less true for cj stroud but for the other guys it really feels that way and so we wanted

1:41.1

dk and so lack to kind of lay out the case four and against each of these guys. But the extremes are so different that we wanted to run back something that did last year, which is we're not going to let them know ahead of time which side they have to take. We don't get a choose. We're going to just slip a coin. And they're going to just automatically have to argue for the absolute upside or downside of each of these guys. Talk about extremes. We're doing the coin toss like we're Anton Shiger and no crunching for old men. It takes his life or death. You know what I mean? What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss? That's not really how he talks, but that's what he says. Yeah, he's going to say. What's the most you ever lost on the coin toss? Sir?

2:18.3

The most you ever lost in the coin does.

2:22.3

I don't know. I couldn't say.

Call it.

For a whole lot. Just call it.

This is how I decide to rank prospects anyway. This is how I watch film. I'm like, all right, time to dial up some Jordan Addison. I flip a coin and go, oh, tails not going to like him. And I just went the entire film watching session just like, ah, bad plays. There they are. Well, drafting quarterbacks in general is pretty much a coin toss, right? you can do all the research in the world and and you're just flipping a coin. No one actually knows if these guys are going to work out in the NFL. In the case of Bryce Young, you're flipping a dime. Oh. Anthony Richardson, you're flipping a silver dollar? It's a whole loony, man. It's one of those Canadian coins. It's got like different metals in it. All right. Let's just start right there with Bryce Young then. Are we going to wait, last time we did this, we forgot a coin. And I'm realizing, did we do that again? I don't have a coin on me. You can just ask you to flip a coin. No. We got to do it old school. I kind of like the physical. How did we do this two years in a row? We got a quarter.

3:25.2

Are we going to do a thing where I should flip it under my hand? I always felt like that was like the opposite of what it was. All right, fine. Are you asking us how to flip a coin? He is. Well, I was debating. Wait, who's I can? Whatever. I'll just do the thing where I flip it. Whatever. We're going to do each side here, like the good end.

3:40.1

What you get to pick if you're going to argue for against Price Young.
