In this video, we're going to go over two disappearances that are frustratingly close to being solved,

It was just another slow October afternoon at the Chalmsford Car Wash in Massachusetts,

and one of those forgettable days where the hours crawled by.

The car wash sat tucked along a main road, wedged between gas stations and strip malls, and was the kind of business most people

barely noticed as they drove past. But on that October day in 1998, its perception would

change forever. A young employee, restless and looking to kill time, took a break from work

and tossed a ball against the side of the car wash and let it bounce back to him before catching it and throwing it again. On one particular throw,

the employee put a little too much power on it, and the ball bounced off the side of the building

wildly, flying over his head and into the vacant lot next door. This was little more than a patch

of overgrown dirt and weeds, and the employee walked over to where he saw the ball land, and that's when he saw it. Half buried in the dirt was something that looked too white and

too clean to be a rock or a tree root. He bent down and stared at it, and rather quickly, he realized

it was a jawbone, and it was most definitely human. Within hours, police were swarming the

log, coming through the patch of earth next to the car wash, and over the next three days they unearthed more bones.

There would end up being no flesh, but still looped around what remained of the neck, was a

delicate silver herringbone necklace, indicating the person who wore was likely a woman.

After the discovery and as the investigation got underway, police learned that there was no matching
