So today, we're going to get into a story that I'm really inspired by,

and it is on something that you might think is not that inspirational,

which is the story of Jesse Bodefouca,

who is the daughter of Joey Badafouca, involved in one of the most sensational true crime cases of the 90s.

It's the case where one man's wife was shot in the face by his underage mistress, Amy Fisher.

A case that maybe helped kick off the true crime craze that's still going on today.

What you might not know, though, is that Joey's daughter, Jesse, was nine years old at the time,

and her normal life was upended when the family's tragedy became a media circus.

So this is Jesse's story.

It's from a podcast called Gratitudeology, which is made by a wonderful creator named

Jamie Hess.

So you'll hear Jesse talk all about reclaiming her voice, navigating trauma, media exploitation

with Jamie really leading the way and being the interviewer.

It is a powerful moving and honestly

kind of unforgettable episode. This episode mentions gun violence and suicide. Please take care
