And in our world a seismic event has happened in Gaza.

The Hamas attack on Israel and now Israel's invasion of Gaza in response has sent reverberations throughout the world, politically, militarily,

economically.

But this week for this episode, I wanted to focus on a particular kind of aftershock, the moral aftershock, because I believe

this event has sent moral shock waves through at least two distinct spheres.

One, the sphere of what you would call the moral practice of war,

and secondly, the moral practice of free speech on campus. And I think it's a

think it's a testimony to the seismic impact of Gaza that it has sent

aftershocks into these two very disparate spheres, one focused on international

fears and the military and the other on the domestic practice of free speech.

And I wanted to do one good faith episode on the aftershocks in both of these

spheres, the practice of war and the practice of free speech. But these are two very different

spheres. And so I thought, who could possibly,

who could possibly be one guest

that could cover both of these fears?

Such a person couldn't possibly exist could they?

Well fortunately I have as our founding friend David French, somebody who just happens to be an expert in both of these.
