I made a trip this weekend to Oakdale, Louisiana.

It's a very good chance that you know Maulka will because he worked there for ever.

It was interesting on a number of levels.

I don't know how much funeral talking I feel like doing.

But one thing about doing the funeral stuff is you learn things that you didn't know necessary.

Now some of you who are from Louisiana may know some things about Oakdale.

It's a very interesting town but like it is a rural southern town but it's not an agriculture town.

It's an old sawmill town so you know it goes a little bit hard.

So I was talking to Maulka Frank and we were at a house and he was explaining to me that he wasn't very familiar.

With this part of Oakdale because they didn't go over there when he was growing up.

And I'll be honest with you Oakdale don't ever feel big enough that there was some kind of part of town that you just didn't go to.

But whatever right.

And he says yeah we ain't really come over here.

He said they was over there shooting and I was like oh okay you know something is never changed right.

Alright cool.

He then forgets to talk about Oakdale and he mentions that you know up through the 1920s

that while there was certainly a measure of like the domestic terrorism that you know is Hallmark to the South

and white people were certainly like doing harm to black people and perhaps killing some of them.
