And I'm torn. I'm torn because I have a daily news show, this one in fact.

And, in arguably, the most important news story is what is going on in the Senate.

The president has been impeached and he might be removed.

Only you may have gleaned as part of the gist's ongoing coverage of

the impeachment trial and very likely acquittal of Donald J. Trump.

It's pretty clear he won't be removed, which argues against the notion of newsiness.

As does this fact, there is nothing new.

There are new depths of deception and tendentiousness that the Republicans are plumbing.

But every argument put forth by a suit wearing J. Seculo or Pat Sepoloni has already been voiced by

Jim Jordan in shirts leaves or phrase slower and stupider by Doug Collins.

It's not new. It's not news.

It is long. It is expected. It is known.

It has been argued and to my mind proved extensively.

I don't resent the Democrats for going through this and really trying to prove it thoroughly.

But as far as the definition of news or anything that actually can hold my interest,
