We are back in the saddle after a long holiday weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed it. I do love a short work week, and I do wish that capitalism would just go ahead and give us all a short work week.

I think everybody's happier when they only have four days instead of five.

But I have to tell you all, and this won't come as a shock to anyone, including me.

We lost our internet and cable again.

And, of course, my husband is flat on his back, immobilized. me, we lost our internet and cable again.

And of course, my husband is flat on his back immobilized with his post-op leg, raised above his head, unable to do anything.

And I want you to imagine what it would be like for you to spend 24 hours like that with no TV and no internet.

It's scary. And I know what you're saying.

Well, he can read a book or maybe he can whittle you a narwhal out of a twig.

Yeah, he could do those things.

Right.

He could do those things.

But he is, this is, we're coming up on a week tomorrow that this has been his reality.

So he was stir crazy.

Let me tell you what, what we did.

So I went and got his laptop.

Kevin has a laptop from the Dark Ages, so it still has a DVD player in it.

You know, now when you buy a laptop, you're lucky if it has a USB port. Yeah, it's true.

Now they're just like sleek dinner plates that you have to buy a million other things in order

to do anything with it. But he's got one of these old workhorse laptops with a DVD player.
