| 0:06.5 | And it's Nick, and this is a bonus question and answer podcast. |
| 0:09.4 | We are going to be answering some of your questions. |
| 0:11.8 | In fact, the questions you've been sending in as voice notes, WhatsApp, and emails. |
| 0:16.1 | So I want to start us off by asking you what, have you got a new chair for Mastermind? |
| 0:54.7 | Or University Challenge, even. Did you just, did you just, that's an authentic, appalling, Eric. Did you just accuse me of being the host of Mastermind? The people offended by that include me, Clive Myrie, and the 2 million plus people that watch University Challenge every single week. And the answer is, yes, I do have a new chair for University Challenge. And since you mentioned, the new series did begin on Monday, the 18th of December, and is available on I player? Oh, is it? Yeah. I think maybe I thought of Mastermind because I was thinking of a very big chair. Right. And... Or maybe you just generally think of me as a Mastermind. There's a number of possibilities, but that isn't one of them. |
| 0:59.1 | One of my friends who came up and said they love the podcast, |
| 1:01.9 | he said, I can't work out which have views more passive-aggressive to the other. |
| 1:05.4 | Yeah, to which you should have said, I'm Nick Robinson. |
| 1:07.8 | I'm not passive-aggressive. |
| 1:08.7 | I'm aggressive-aggressive. |
| 1:09.9 | Good point. |
| 1:10.9 | Enough of this nonsense. Let's, well, let's do it. |
| 1:25.4 | Thank you so much for all these brilliant questions. We're going to rattle through lots of them and we're going to kick off with Chris from Halifax. |
| 1:31.3 | Hi Amel. Hi Nick. |
| 1:33.3 | Just wondered from the pair of you if you had the choice over the last 50 years, maybe 100 years, to go back in time and have an in-depth conversation with political figures of the time, |
| 1:48.6 | what particular crisis or event would you choose to have that discussion with? |
| 1:54.8 | Fantastic question, Chris. |
| 1:56.4 | I've got a thought for you, Nick, as to where I'm going to guess where you might say. |
| 2:18.2 | And I'm going to guess, not that I would ever seek to answer questions on your behalf. I'm going to guess you might say 1933, because your family, as I've often tried to encourage you to write about or talk about, your family's got this extraordinary relationship with, well, Nazi Germany. And I think I heard you say on a podcast, your family fled Munich. |
| 2:21.1 | Your grandparents fled Munich for Shanghai, was it, in 1933? |
