Standing on the roadside in a desolate stretch of Portland,

Carol Dundam was ready to call it a night.

With the hot summer weather, business was slow.

But the thought of next month's rent loomed large.

All she needed was one more client to make this shift worth it.

She squinted against the setting sun as a truck cruise towards her.

It looked familiar. When she saw the driver, she smiled.

It was Steve. This was perfect.
