Something about the all-star break and kind of putting things into perspective when there's not a hundred games on on tap and last night watching the Carolina hurricanes

as they come back from a 4-1 deficit with three-third period goals

and you start to wonder just about how good this team is,

how good this team can be.

And then you think, man, if they just make one or two trades,

and in this case, it's probably one if they can add a score to the likes of aho and Jarvis and Naches and and Terravinin and stall like that if you can add a forward to that group it's going to be a super impressive team watching

them win last night they beat the LA Kings five to four in overtime Sebastian oh no no no and that's the winner. And you start to think about all the moves and everything that's kind of gone along the process here for the Carolina hurricanes and one that stands out to me from the off season. I mean the Max Pacharetti deal was great.

Unfortunately, we won't see the fruits of that labor because he's out for the rest of the season with the

Achilles injury but the other one that stood out was the trade for Brent Burns and

Brent Burns just recently celebrated playing in in game number 1300.

And when you look at how good that defensive group is

with Jacob Slavin and Brett Pesci and Brady Shea,

and then you add Brent Burns to that group and

Jayland Chatfield's been been very good especially lately. You think of what

Brent Burns means to that organization and means to that team as a guy, a veteran guy who's played a lot, he's seen a lot, he's played on some really good teams. To see what he brings to this group is super special. And let hear from from Brent Burns this was last night in

the intermission and he's talking about playing in game number 1300 you know I think

it's one of those things like you just you try to stay in the grind a little bit you

know obviously it makes you think about all the the people that have helped me get

here and stay here and the guys I've learned from and just thankful.

Thankful to be part of this organization

and being a new adventure and it's just been a lot of fun and it's a great group to be a part of and
