A large number of characters have gone missing during a song of ice and fire, and in the histories.

Missing is a word with a wide variety of meanings though, and we're going to try to apply as many of those definitions

as possible. Tyreck is an example of a straightforward missing person.

Well, Tysha is missing from the narrative. Well, she's included, but we haven't seen her on

page. She's only been talked about, thought about, etc.

Whether it's a character whose location we simply don't know,

because they're elusive, like the Blackfish, though we do have a general idea.

Or because they might be dead, like Benj and Stark.

We also have a general idea of where he is but it needs to be narrowed down quite a bit.

Or both like Stone Snake, who's also beyond the wall,

we'll cover the details of their absence and their outlook in that regard as to whether they might be found, what that might mean for the story, some have run off on their own accord.

Others may be seized against their will and others, well, we're not really sure.

There's also the matter of characters that appear to be missing to other characters within the story even though we readers know where they are.

Like Aria and Sansa and Rickin, all the Starks basically.

In fact, most of the major characters have been missing at one point or another, and a lot of them still are.
