Father, I ask that you will take the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart and you will use them to impact this great church, this great congregation for your namesake.

The date was April 15th, 1912. It was a day that will live in infamy in the history of our country and of

the world because that was the day that the

Titanic sunk. Now most people know of the sinking of the Titanic due to its running into an iceberg as it made its

maiden voyage from Southampton, England to the United States.

But that was the second reason

why the Titanic sunk.

The first reason why the Titanic sunk was a missing key. Now a lot of people don't know about this so let me tell you about the missing key. On the day before the launching of the Titanic,

David Blair, the second officer on the ship,

was reassigned. David Blair had in his pocket the key to the crows' nest locker.

Inside the crows' nest locker were binoculars that the man used who was on the crow's nest the high lookout

point would use to see out.

But because David Blair mistakenly took the key with him,

the Crow's Nest locker was not available.

And so the gentleman who stood in the Crow's nest looked out with just his human sight and he didn't see the iceberg

So the first reason why there was a catastrophe that cost the lives of over 1,500 people

was there was a missing key.

I'd like to suggest to you today that there is also a missing key in our

culture and in the church. What I would like to suggest to you is that while Jesus has a big fan club, there are millions of people who respect his name.

He has very few disciples. And so I want to talk to you
