Summary

It started long before she was born — back when her mother’s side dabbled in things they shouldn’t have. Black magic. Witchcraft. Doors opened, never shut. Years later, she and her siblings were still dealing with it: toys moving on their own, shadows in the house, and a woman in white only her mom could see.

Then they moved to Illinois.

Behind the house sat an old, off-limits chicken coop. One summer night, camping in the yard, she looked up and saw a little boy staring at them from the coop window. No one else saw him. The next day, the kids snuck inside anyway — found old children’s drawings, a strange box under the floorboards… and shotgun shells in a home where nobody owned a gun. Minutes later, she looked down and her leg was covered in blood — but there was no cut.

Later, she heard the rumor: a boy who lived there went missing and was never found.

Like, I realize that we all have built up stuff during the week that doesn't get done, that you've got to take care of on the weekend. But it's almost like it's kind of the point, at least in my life, where there is no weekend. Like, you're just working, you're doing this. This chore's got to get done.

You're just kind of like it's not the normal work, but it's more work of doing other stuff. And then you're like, oh, well, it's the evening now. I'm going to, I'm going to hang out and
2:01.6	maybe stay up a little bit later than normal. And then you pay for that the next day, too. I've, I've had that a lot where it's like, holy shit, I cannot, I can't do this anymore. I cannot. Well, and that's the thing. I don't stay up late. I'm like sitting in the chair trying to. Yeah. Over the weekend, I was trying to watch a TV show called Ghost Brothers, which I absolutely like. And I'm saying, I want to see this episode because they talk about a location in Columbus or Cleveland, Ohio or something like that. It's supposed to be really haunted. And I'm sitting there nodding off. and all I could picture in my head is when my dad, when I was younger, my dad would be
