Could you tell us a little bit about yourself and about Seating Sovereignty?

Yeah, I'm playing Scruis Alto of the George Gordon First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada.

But I grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, which sometimes I jokingly call the

Resiest City in Canada.

And I've been living in the I.O.A for about 13 years.

I came here to get my degree.

I have to agree in a master's degree in religious studies with a focus on Native American

religion of culture and a minor in American Indian Native Studies.

And the Seating Sovereignty is an organization that's been around just for a few years,

kind of emerged out of Standing Rock.

Women by the name of Janet McGilvery founded it.

And then I started working with Seating Sovereignty almost two years ago now.

And it's a woman's indigenous led organization.

And we kind of do, I don't know what you would call us to be honest.
