Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Today is the feast of the miraculous metal. On this day in 1830, Mary appeared to St.

Catherine Labore in a small chapel in Paris. Our lady was clothed all in white. She was standing on the earth. Under one of her feet was the head of a green serpent, representing Satan whom she was crushing with her heel, which was foretold

ages ago in Genesis 315.

In her hands, she held a golden ball surmounted by a cross. Then Catherine relates

all at once I saw rings on her fingers.

Each ring set with gems which emitted rays of light.

Our lady said,

The ball that you see represents the whole world and each person in particular.

Then referring to the rays coming from the gems on the rings, our lady said,

they are the symbols of the graces I give to those who ask.

The gems from which rays do not fall

are the graces for which souls forget to ask.

Then the golden ball disappeared in the brilliance of the sheaves of light bursting from all sides and our lady's hands turned out and her

arms were bent down under the weight of the treasure of grace that God wanted to give the world.

Then the voice said,

Have a medal struck after this image.

All who wear it will receive great graces they should wear the

metal around their neck and graces will abound for those who wear it with confidence.

Soon after, Catherine related the vision to her Bishop,

and he gave orders for the medal to be cast, and they began to distribute it among all people
