We're working our way through the book of First Corinthians now, heading into chapter 2.

I was just thinking this morning about if you compare and contrast what we just finish the

book of Hebrews with First Corinthians, it's kind of an interesting little study because you have

in the book of Hebrews, we had Jewish believers who were under persecution and they were

threatened threatening to go back into the Jewish system and then in 1st Corinthians you

have Greeks who think that wisdom is everything and that they could just figure out their way to

God that they could logically and philosophically get to their place of God,

or get to the place of a relationship with God.

And, you know, in their mind, crucifixion was a weakness.

It was, you know, so Jesus was, to them, looked weak.

And so one was wanting to go back, another one was trying to move

forward. So it's an interesting little contrast. And so we can kind of find ourselves in both
