morning, everybody. The end of the last week of Congress's first week back. Does that work? Yeah,

I guess it does work. The first week Congress has been back after the election.

What a week it's been. And it's also the first week of, first full week of President-elect Donald Trump.

And the nexus of those two things has provided a lot of news about governing and about legislative

politics. We are taking a look this morning at Mike Johnson and John Thune, the Speaker of the House

and the incoming Senate majority leader, and managing and minimizing when necessary,

the daily political Merlstrom that is Donald Trump will fall on the

shoulders of those two lawmakers come early January. Let's take a look at what occurred this week alone.

Trump nominated two cabinet-level candidates who may not get confirmed. Tulsi Gabbard,

the former congresswoman from Hawaii, and Matt Gates, the Attorney General nominee.

Gates resigned from the House just two days before damaging ethics report was set to be released.

Trump then tapped Robert F. Kennedy, a vaccine skeptic who questions a wide variety of

scientific truisms to be HHS secretary and then nominated his personal attorneys to
