I conducted recently with the new Taoiseach

Mihoq, Mihal Martin, at his office in government buildings in Dublin.

I suppose we should acknowledge the fact, first of all,

Taoiseach, that you're only in the job of Fortnite.

You are no stranger to Northern Ireland.

What can people there do you think expect

from you during your time as Tisha? Genuine engagement and a desire to, in particular, develop

and nurture North-South relations and relationships and institutions to a stronger degree, and also,

particularly in a post-Brexit context, to develop a shared consensus around what it means to live on an island together

and to share that island together. My own sense is that in recent times the north-south dimension needs resuscitation, needs

a bit of extra momentum.

I think the existing north-south bodies provide a platform to do that, but also in terms

of informant exchanges, not just between politics, but between business, arts, culture, sport and those areas.

And where we have common ground to work together, to maximise the benefit that can be got from working together,

and also through that then strengthen the various

sets of relationships because I'm a passionate believer in a good fight agreement and its implementation.

That agreement is underpinned by three fundamental sets of relationships.

The north-south relationship, the east-west, British-Irish and of course the two traditions within the north as well.
