Mike Calvin, the author of several books that don't my shelves family, which I would

highly recommend the season with Millwall back in League 1. The Nowhere Men, the story of Air Football Scout, and also

living on the volcano which explores the role of the manager in English football and all three of those that I've mentioned

are Musreids as is his latest offering which is called No Hunger in Paradise which looks at the world of youth football and youth

development and what it takes to become a Premier League or even just a

professional footballer. Mike thanks very much first of all for joining us. My pleasure.

I was guaranteed. I was guaranteed beforehand. Mike, first of all, tell us about the book, some of the themes that it explores,

and also where the inspiration for writing it came from.

Obviously, you've touched upon it and

some of your other books, but obviously this is a more in-depth look.

Yeah, I think what I've tried to do in the books and one of the great

privileges of doing the book compared to say writing in a column where I, you know,

as you guys would know you do your 800 or 1,000 words, you've got 100,000 words to really

contextualize the subject, but also really look in real depth.

And what I've always tried to do with books is to humanize the issues and just tell it through the eyes of you know of ordinary people within what is an extraordinary
