0:37.3	from Henry Van Dyke called Messengers at the Window. Henry Van Dyke was an
0:42.1	American author, educator, and clergyman born in 1852 in
0:46.0	German town Pennsylvania. He attended Princeton, graduating in 1873 from
0:51.5	Princeton Theological Seminary.
0:54.4	He returned to Princeton as a professor of English literature,
0:57.3	was also an American lecturer at the University of Paris,
1:00.1	and was appointed by President Wilson
1:02.0	to the post of Minister to the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
1:05.0	As a member of the clergy, Christmas and Easter were special holidays for Henry Van Dyke.
1:10.0	He wrote some popular Christmas stories you might recognize called The Other Wise Men,
1:15.0	The First Christmas Tree, and Keeping Christmas.
1:18.5	One of his best known poems is called Time Is.
1:22.2	It goes like this, Time is too slow for those who time is it
1:25.0	who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for
1:30.5	those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.
1:36.4	And if you've ever heard the church hymn Joyful, Joyful, We Adorely,
1:40.5	he wrote the lyrics for that. And now our story.
