German town Pennsylvania. He attended Princeton, graduating in 1873 from

Princeton Theological Seminary.

He returned to Princeton as a professor of English literature,

As a member of the clergy, Christmas and Easter were special holidays for Henry Van Dyke.

He wrote some popular Christmas stories you might recognize called The Other Wise Men,
