| 0:12.0 | Today we learn what mercy does and doesn't do. |
| 0:17.0 | Now let me tell you what I want to do this evening because one of the verses I'm going to read says, |
| 0:22.0 | the mercy of God is from everlasting to everlasting. |
| 0:27.0 | And it would take about that long to explain the mercy of God. |
| 0:31.0 | So I really want to zero in on one particular area of the mercy of God. |
| 0:36.0 | And that is as it relates to salvation, as it relates to our redemption. |
| 0:41.0 | And what I believe is a misconception, the part of a lot of people today, about the mercy of God. |
| 0:47.0 | So I want us to look at two or three verses here about the mercy of God for just a moment. |
| 0:51.0 | And two or three that you and I are familiar with, look if you will in the 51st Psalm. |
| 0:56.0 | And we will look at two or three Psalms here. |
| 0:59.0 | And then I want us to look at this matter of the problem that I think a lot of people have when they begin to think about the mercy of God. |
| 1:06.0 | If you recall, the 51st Psalm is probably one of the most beautiful Psalms of confession to be found in the Bible. |
| 1:13.0 | And the Psalmist says, have mercy upon me, oh God, according to thy loving kindness, |
| 1:18.0 | according under the multitude of thy tender mercies, blood out my transgressions. |
| 1:23.0 | And you remember this is David's Psalm of confession of sin before God. |
| 1:27.0 | If you look at the 57th Psalm for a moment. |
| 1:31.0 | Again, the first verse, be merciful unto me, oh God, be merciful unto me, for my soul trusted in thee, |
| 1:40.0 | ye in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge until these calamities be overpast. |
| 1:47.0 | The 103rd Psalm, look if you will just a moment. |
