Down in Florida, Manatee County teachers have been told to cover up all the books in their classroom

libraries or risk felony prosecution because Ron DeSantis is running for president.

It's seriously. My heart is broken for Florida students today as I am forced to pack up my

classroom library wrote one Manatee teacher on Facebook. Another called it a travesty to education.

Upcoming Manatee County school board meeting, they prepared materials for that including a

21 point list of procedures to ensure the classroom libraries comply with the new rules.

DeSantis is threatening felony prosecution for any teacher who is found with a book in their

classroom library that doesn't comport with his standards, which are vague and confusing.

As a result, one Manatee teacher reported being forced to take sneezey the snowman and dragons

love tacos off the shelves pending review. Other teachers fearing criminal liability,

Manatee County has 64 public schools, 3,000 teachers, many of whom maintain these libraries
