Today's episode, I want to deep dive into the map's three-point issue because it's massive.

Against the Hornets, it was just this huge issue. Everybody knows it. They don't have enough guys that take threes. They don't have enough guys that make threes. They don't take enough as a team. It doesn't matter. And so I wanted to deep dive into, all right, well, how do the best teams in the NBA take threes? Who takes threes on the teams? What kind of threes are they taking? And how close are the Mavericks to fixing this issue and becoming a really good three-point shooting team? And even just, not even a good three-point shooting team, but just like a competent NBA offense. And so I started to look through it. And I dove into where the Mavericks are.

Are they like one shooter away? Are they two shooters away?

The Mavs need to add like three good shooters in order to become a really good three point shooting team.

And you're like, okay, they have two guys. I went through and I was like, all right, how many players are taking four threes or more in the NBA?

And right now the Mavs have the least of any team in the NBA with two,

Max, Christie and Clay Thompson.

PJ is pretty close to being up to being there.

But his threes have gone down recently.

And this is just attempts.

And so they only have two,

at least decent three-point shooters or volume three-point shooters at all.

They do have, and only one of the top 12 teams in the NBA,

so top six on either side of the standings,

have over five shooters taking four more threes a game.

So the best teams, Detroit only has two, their match with the Mavericks.

Toronto only has three.

Houston, Minnesota, Cleveland only have four.

Denver, Philly, OKC, the Lakers, even Boston, and the Spurs have five.
