we got all the updates we'll talk about that we. We'll talk about the Mavs postponed game, which we should have been doing a post game on about right now. We should have been doing that, but we'll talk about rumors around the Dallas Mavericks with Najee Marshall and Max Christie. We'll also talk about things that we've learned from this Mavs last stretch. They've gone seven and four in their last 12.

1:44.6

And so I think that that's something that we should really talk about. Seven and four in their last 11. I can do math, I promise. Whoa. Well, let's start here, Isaac Harris. Flex on us. Mark Stein dropped another round of what some call slop, but now that word has been adopted by like AI stuff. so I don't know if we can call it slop anymore.

1:45.3

It's rumors.

It's talk.

1:46.8

It's talk around the league.

1:47.3

It's reports.

1:44.6

It's all that. but now that word has been like adopted by like AI stuff. And so I don't know if we can call it slap anymore.

1:45.3

It's rumors.

1:45.9

It's talk.

3:07.5

It's talk around the league. It's reports. It's all that. And obviously we trust Stein with the things that he says because he's the closest to the Mavericks of anybody of any reporter out there. And a couple of rumors that came out in this, this latest piece that he did on a substack. Najee Marshall, Max Christie have emerged as prized members of Dallas's Young Corps, he said obviously around Cooper Flagg, but the Mavs have high thresholds, trade thresholds, for both Naji and Max Christie. He says the Mavs won't listen to a trade that doesn't include a first round pick for Naji Marshall. And then they said about Max Christie, they're mostly focused on him getting an invite to the three-point contest. And I read both of these things, laughed at the second part about the three-point contest. And then I thought for a second, I said, you know what? This is exactly what we've been talking about. This is the way the Mavericks should be approaching this deadline. They do have these guys. What we talked about on the show yesterday is that the Mavs could be one of the only sellers out there that have these veteran guys or have these guys that have some value that could be valuable to teams that want to win now. And the Mavs could be one of the only teams that have those guys that is on a team under 500 that really could try to win right now, but they've gone through so many injuries that it just isn't really worth it. Like I don't think they're going to go very far, even if they start getting some guys back. And so you could sell and work some of those assets down for the future, which is what you should do because you have Cooper Flagg right now, and he's 19 years old. But what the maps are doing, if these rumors are correct, is that, hey, we're not just going to sell these guys off for anything. We're only going to take a first round pick, something valuable to us for Najee Marshall. We're really not even taking any calls on Max Christie. We'll talk about Max Christie. Like, if you guys value Max Christi, that's awesome. but we're really focused on him getting in the three-point contest. Like we're really even not talking about his value at all. And to me, I read those and I said, yeah, this is the right approach. You hold out for the types of of assets that you want to get for these guys because Najee Marshall's playing. Naji Marshall has value and Naji Marshall is on a pretty good contract. And so this is a

3:42.8

valuable player that the Mavericks have. And I don't think they should just take like any offer

3:46.2

for them just to get off of them because that, you know, they need to. This is different than the

3:49.8

Anthony Davis situation. Yeah, it's definitely different. And, you know, I just like that, hey,

3:55.3

we, he didn't say they're untouchable. They didn't say that they will not be traded.

4:00.5

It was they value them and which they should.

4:03.8

They're playing really well with Cooper Flag.
