So for listeners just meeting you here for the first time, can you explain what exactly

is a Mashup American, and how our listener would know if he or she or they are one?

Yeah, so that thank you so much for asking, letting us give us this chance.

So a Mashup American is somebody who's living in a culture that's different than the one

their parents are from, who's in a relationship with somebody who's from a different cultural

background.

And then the broader, culturally curious group, I think a lot of WNYC listeners are in

that is our broader community who is excited about being in this mashup world.

So I, for example, am a first generation American, my mom is from El Salvador, I'm a Latin

Jew from Los Angeles, living a lived a long time in New York City, as well.
