| 0:00.0 | In today's First of Team Podcast, we're going to look together at the marriage of faith and works. |
| 0:10.0 | One of my greatest struggles is working with God rather than for God. God cares deeply about |
| 0:15.8 | our work, our impact in this life, but not because he needs us to serve him or work for |
| 0:21.1 | him, but because he wants to work with us. He wants to give us a picture of his |
| 0:26.1 | goodness and love at work in the lives of others. And he wants to deepen our relationship with |
| 0:31.6 | him by identifying and empowering us in our unique |
| 0:35.1 | calling. May we gain revelation today that would stick that would transform our |
| 0:40.4 | understanding and deepen our experience of the connection, the relationship between |

| 1:31.7 | abundant life-giving relationship with our Heavenly Father. |
| 1:36.7 | God doesn't call us to work out of obligation or to earn his love, but to live our lives in response to his love. |
| 1:44.9 | It's for this reason that scripture is clear about God's intention for the marriage of |
| 1:49.2 | faith and works. |
| 1:52.4 | James 226 says, for as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from |
| 1:58.8 | works is dead. What is our faith if it doesn't produce action? |
| 2:04.0 | What's the nature of our relationship with God if it doesn't cause us to live differently? |
