And Sean McCann from Wake the Dead and today is I think a quite an interesting and really important direct source examination of the use of hypnotism and how early this developed and how advanced it was and the various

permutations you know experimenting on criminals college students military people and will look even

use of various drugs combining hypnotism with drug inputs all this was going on in the 1930s and just before

we get started i just want to say one note is that this hypnotism has become so normalized in our

culture that what people take for most types of spiritual practices,

mindfulness, meditation, all this stuff, all these experiences are going into a hypnotic trance.

This is very distinct from a type of clear, you know, consciousness or awareness

where you're able to access a different brain states, right? So the hypnotic trance, you are

no longer in control. If you self-hypnotize, you can put yourself into a trance. You can

put yourself into another reality. You can either generate

can be used positively or you can generate a self-generating psychotic state, which can be

collectively shared by the masses. So hypnotism has become, um, just as something I just thought

about today is that a lot of these things even things that

you know okay let's do not to bash femhoff whatever but you're doing that and a certain it's a type of

hypnotism and you're doing you're putting a lot of strain on the body right you're doing a lot of

things like eCT, your eye movements.

That's also, these are hypnotic induction states. Therapy does, you know what I mean? And so people are so
