Summary

When she bought the 1906 Victorian in the heart of Jackson, California’s gold country, she thought she was getting a dream property with a rich history. She got that—and much more. Once a brothel, a boarding house, and home to a string of scandalous owners, the house sits beneath a cemetery, alongside a creek, and at the epicenter of some of the West Coast’s most haunted territory. Before long, objects vanished, electronics failed, and unseen tenants made their presence known—especially in the basement, where a man named “Steve” introduced himself in a voice clear enough to send even seasoned paranormal investigators running. But who was Steve in life… and why does he still seem to be running things from the other side?
