It's been nearly a year since thousands of supporters of then-president Donald Trump

stormed the Capitol building in Washington, DC.

Hey brother, where boots on the ground here?

We're moving on to Capitol now.

I'll give you a boot on.

Since then, more than 700 individuals have been charged by the Justice Department for participating in the attack.

But many of the lawmakers who were trapped in the Capitol that day have more questions.

The country's never really had a full accounting of what happened.

Nor outside of the rioters themselves has anybody really been held accountable.

In July, Congress formed a select committee in the House to investigate January 6th.

Our colleague Shivon Hughes has been covering it.

So far, it has interviewed more than 300 people as we speak right now, and the majority of them have come in and spoken on a voluntary basis.

It's received reams of documents of the 300 people it's issued more than 50 subpoenas.

A lot of them to former White House officials or to pro-Trump organizers, and it's heard from most of those people too.

And there's one man in particular that the committee has said it's sights on.

Trump's former Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows.

As Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows held a critical position leading up to and during January 6th,

which is why investigators believe that he is uniquely situated to understand what was happening behind the scenes.
