how CBS was doing these talent rates and how NBC responded. In many ways, NBC still managed to

stay competitive. They still had some popular comedy series that remains such as the Bob Hope show

and Faber McGee and Molly. Also kept the great gilder sleeve even though they had to change stars

with Willard Waterman coming on board. They also did a lot of things with musical variety comedy

stuff, particularly with the Big Show. I won't get into all of that. But they did something really

different with Detective Program. While CBS really strongly leaned into hiring people who were
