I went from being unable to run a mile to conquering four marathons the following year.

Now, I want to help others manufacture big breakthroughs of their own.

For someone like me, it's not taking things personally.

Like, it really is, I mean, you know,

you've got to remind yourself, I've given in scripts that people hate that ultimately

become successful or don't. It doesn't really matter. You have to believe in what you're doing,

and you have to understand that they may not see what you see or they may have a valid point

that you need to listen to.

So I think all of life is about trying not to take things so personally,

trying to think what's going on in the other person's head.

You know, this business, you know, a singer-songwriter, of course there's a difficult journey,

but they sing their song, they play it, and this and that.

I can't do that.

If I want to make a television show, I need millions and millions of dollars from someone else.

I need an entire cast and crew to come together, to be right.

So it's a very collaborative situation, and you really need to learn how to manage lots of people's

thoughts and opinions. So, you know, I think, but those are the things that I try on a daily

basis to work on, which is not taking things personally. I mean, it's the key to every situation

and every argument and to try to hear what other people are saying, you know.
