So welcome to Rob Observations, everybody. How you doing? This is Rob Leifeld. We are continuing to talk comics and pop culture and movies. A lot of movies today. We are going to dive straight into as we walk down the making of Deadpool. We have come to the big time movies, the big enchilada, the journey to get

Deadpool on screen as you wanted him to be as we intended him. And wow, that was a crazy path.

That was not an easy journey. As the years roll by, it's easy to dismiss the incredible effort that it took to get Deadpool from the page, from the toy shelf, from the video game representation, all the way into a feature film, albeit a much heavily scrutinized budget, very budgetary conscious version of the Deadpool that we know

and love. But finally, getting that green light that brought him to us almost five years

ago today, five years ago this year, in in about four months it'll be the five year

mark for the debut which came out early february of uh 2016 and and just shocked the world but

i think those of us who were who always believed uh you know were were knew that there was something special there

and again Deadpool continued along the trek that he had had from the comic book page where he just

instantly made a connection instantly found a nook right there alongside you and and and and in and snuggled up to you uh and and and made you

warm and cuttly and and once you embraced deadpool you didn't want to go back because you

you thought he was funny or he was violent or he was crass or it was just cool okay but yeah

today we are going to deep dive and go back from the beginning.

It's just, it is funny to me to see how big of a deal Deadpool has become.

I mean, this week in the news, it broke in all of the promotions that Kevin Feige and one of the, one of the magazines, one of the online sources called Kevin Feige, the God King of Marvel.

And really, I mean, that's how the press treats him. He is the God King. Having never written or drawn, illustrated a comic book, Kevin Feigey who came up as an assistant to Richard Donner,

working for Lauren Schuller Donner, came up working alongside them, came up alongside, you know,

being an assistant producer alongside Avi Aron on the earliest of the Marvel stuff,

has obviously seized the day,

seized the kingdom, become the most influential guy in the Marvel pantheon of entertainment,

comics, toys, or anything. Kevin, it's, I think it's indisputable. He is the king of all things at Marvel, and the fans and the press have steered it that way.

And it's interesting.

I'm not sure there's much to debate about it.
