Magisterium. I didn't want to talk on authority.

I wanted to use the word that no one likes, namely the word match hysterium.

It doesn't help to ship around it, we need to steer right into it and through it.

The Catholics tend to be the last ones to use old words, Latin words, and many laypeople,

or the wider public don't know it at all anymore.

This is a Latin word that actually,

I think the Catholics are the only one who have it still in active use.

I'm not aware of any other community or group

that really uses it on a daily basis.

So, Magisterium in Latin is simply the word for the office of teaching.

The magistrate or magister is a teacher.

And in the English, it's simply contracted into master.

So your word for master or our word for master's degree, if you bring it back into Latin, would be magister.

And the office that the magister holds is the magister.

That's really all.

That's the basic meaning of the term.
