Hello and welcome to Psychic Teachers. I'm your host Samantha Faye. And I'm Deb Bowen.

0:20.7

And on today's show, we're going to discuss the magic of scrying. The act of gazing into

0:26.0

a reflective surface to connect with the other side, peek into the future, access parts of our

0:31.9

subconscious or explore remote viewing. Deb, have you ever tried scrying? Yes. What do you think?

0:40.4

It was pretty scary. Actually, I've actually done this several times and every time it's worked,

0:46.3

every time there has been somebody in the mirror. I believe it was the last time I tried this

0:51.8

on Salon some years ago with a friend and we were actually outside in candlelight and took a mirror

1:00.7

outside to go in through the process of inviting folks into to talk to us or to come in. We of course

face after face fly by. And some of them are recognized and some of them I did not. It was a strange

1:20.9

experience. That does sound strange. I have not tried it either. I have gazed into a candle flame,

1:27.3

but I have never tried scrying. And my friend Denise bought me a black obsidian scrying mirror and

1:33.7

some books on it. And so that's what makes up the bulk of this research. But I do want to try it,

1:40.0

but I have not. So we are we are basically novices talking about what we've researched about the

1:46.0

magic of scrying. The word scrying is derived from an old English word which means to succeed in

1:52.2

discerning or to make out dimly. An ancient history only priest and magi were allowed to practice

1:58.6

scrying. Politicians and heads of state would hire them to interpret their dreams or predict the

2:03.6

future or reach out to others on the other side. Some would use bowls of water polished obsidian

2:09.7

crystal balls or black mirrors. Did you know that the very first mirrors were made of black obsidian?

2:16.5

I did. I did not know that. Actually probably copper too.

2:23.1

Yes, different types of metals. But black mirrors date back to 6000 BC and they've been found in

2:30.0

modern day Turkey. Metal mirrors of copper or bronze have been discovered throughout Mesopotamia
