Summary

When Amanda Moore lost her job, she decided to go undercover in MAGA land, attending QAnon events and CPAC, hanging with Neo-Nazis and “blood-and-soil fascists,” and palling around with Proud Boys at Harry's Bar in the lead-up to the January 6 Capitol Riot. But what her new compatriots didn’t know was that she was often recording them, and the result is a chilling portrait “of what the right looks like from the inside.” Elsewhere on the podcast, co-hosts Will Sommer and Asawin Suebsaeng discuss the results of a Texas election audit that “Republican officials were trying to bury”—namely because “they found basically nothing wrong with the results”—and dissect an increasingly bitter feud between two audit-fanatics that has descended into potty-mouthed doxxing. Sommer recounts his firsthand experience of being at the Capitol during the riot a year ago, and the hosts dissect the newest catchphrase to devour the far-right and the latest chaos roiling the ultra-alpha manosphere.

the energy of these conspiracy theorists, these grifters, and these influencers is still pushing

our mainstream political landscape closer and closer to a breaking point. Will, happy New Year,

I'm back, man. I'm ready to pod. Let's do it. Okay, for starters, you have been tracking something

that actually went down on New Year's Eve 2021. Will, would this be a chance something that

0:50.8

Republican officials were trying to bury at a time when significantly fewer people

0:55.8

are actually following the news.

0:57.7

Yeah, so this is New Year's Eve.

0:59.2

Folks are breaking out the champagne, getting ready to sing Old Lang sign.

1:04.1

But in my home state of Texas, there's an interesting development in the audit saga.

1:08.2

So for a while, obviously, we've reported on the desire to audit everything, even states that

1:13.8

Donald Trump won.

1:15.1

So in this case, a few months ago, some Republican officials at the high level there in

1:20.2

Texas, they sort of bowed to pressure from activists and said, well, we're going to audit

1:23.7

votes to, just like Arizona.

1:26.1

And like in Arizona, they went after the most

1:28.2

populace and Democratic counties. Just by coincidence. Sheer coincidence. Right. Oh, well, let's all

1:33.2

look where the Republican strongholds are. So basically, they ended up, this was really hotly anticipated.

1:38.6

Oh, we're going to get to the bottom of this. What have these Democrats been up to? This kind of
