not have tackled, if not for my friend John Burke. In times past, when I heard about near-death

experiences, I just left it alone. But about eight years ago or so, around the time that my

brother-in-law died from pancreatic cancer,

I developed a profound hunger to know more about heaven.

I didn't want to talk with guests given to sensationalism or out-on-a-lim theology.

In fact, this isn't even a topic John Burke set out to explore.

He has an engineer brain.

He's kind of more the cerebral type.

And this is not a sensational pie in the sky book.

And I said this about his other book as well. This is a well-researched, astute analysis of many

people who have claimed to have near-death experiences from people who had more to lose by speaking

up than by keeping quiet about their experience. And John Burke never set out to be the one

to explore this topic. But God used him to encourage many because of his own experience. And John Burke never set out to be the one to explore this topic, but God
