I want to talk to you about the love of God today. Matthew chapter 19, you can turn there or I'm just going to read it to you

and if you believe me it's fine if you don't just check it out.

Jesus said this is quoting actually the commandment, honor your mother and father and you show love your neighbor as you love

who yourself. You show love your neighbor as you love

yourself and I want to talk to you about love today and maybe in some ways that you maybe have or have not heard

you know there's a lot of talk about love but here Jesus reminds us that we're to love people the way we love

ourselves. In other words the level in which we love ourselves becomes the platform, the foundation in

which we love others and let me just say it a different way if you don't love you you won't love

anyone else and so there's all there's all kinds of things see I think that when we were born when

we are little we knew that we were born to be amazing and self love is very natural but something

happens it takes about 12 years of religion to convince us that being amazing is somehow not spiritual

and so we know when you watch little kids play I was watching my my grandkids I have eight we have eight

grandkids their cathes when they're bad but we have eight grandkids in my my oldest grandson his

name's Elijah and he said to his cousin Isaac when they were I think they were six and five he said

let's wrestle and Isaac said okay and Elijah said I'm spider-man hit him with some webs

and Isaac said I want to be that spider-man he said you can't be the spider-man I'm already the

spider-man you can be Superman he said okay I'd be Superman so there they were two superheroes wrestling

in the front room then Riley walked in now Riley looks like a blonde brillo pad like cousin it

can't even see her eyes and at the time she's about four and she walks in she's Elijah's little sister

and she says I want to play I want to play I want to be that spider-man I want to be the spider-man

and Elijah says in his most authoritative voice you can't be the spider-man I'm already the spider-man

just then I walk by and she says we papa papa said what and she's crying she says they're not playing
