If you would pray with me as we look into this subject of love and marriage

and ask for heaven's help, let's pray. Our Father in heaven, we're so thankful to be here again,

firing things back up and inviting you to join us. And we ask for you

to give us wisdom. Lord, we can be so short-sighted and so foolish apart from your direction.

So, God, we're not trusting in ourselves to get this right. We're acknowledging you and we're

acknowledging your ways.

We're anticipating your presence with us to be our great teacher, to be our healer, our provider.

And we look to you, Jesus, as the great, not only our Savior, not only God in human flesh,

but as our example of love and patience and kindness and goodness and

faithfulness and humility, Lord, we want to be more like you.

And we want to demonstrate that mostly and most clearly in our marriage with our spouse.

We love you and we ask this in Jesus name. Amen.

I hope by now you've got a copy of this book. We're going to go through it together. And the

reason I want you to have the copy of the book is because I've got my study notes in here already.

And in the book, there are particular dares that go along with it. And then a journal,

pages for you to write down your thoughts and what you're learning. And this is going to be our manual. So as we look at this, I want to give you a little context for The Love Dare. Well, first of all, you know that it was in the movie Fireproof, right? I know a little bit about Fireproof. I played Captain Caleb Hol in the movie, and my dad gave me the book to save my marriage.

And I thought in the movie that the love dare was designed to change my wife.

And then I discovered that the love dare is not designed to change your spouse.

The love dare is designed to give you an opportunity to get your heart right with God and allow

him to transform you on the inside.
