Carrie, we are starting off the new year with some foundational truths from Adrian Rogers.

You know, last week we began our current series, Foundations for our faith, and we're going to

be in the series through the end of January.

Well, that's exactly right.

And you know, Dr. Rogers tagline for this series was a solid word for an unsure age.

You know, he loved the Book of Romans.

I mean, he loved it, it especially Romans 8 28 through 32 he would hover many

times. I remember one time he said if he was stranded on an island had one book

yes it would be the book the Bible of course and if there's only one chapter it would be the book, the Bible of course, and if there was only one chapter, it would be Romans chapter 8.

You know, Byron, as you often said, we used to have Adrian Rogers in the studio from time to time,

talking about different messages and series in this specific conversation.

He lays out the entire book of Romans in an outline form.

Well, this book starts out dealing, of all with sin. It tells us what is wrong in the world.

And Paul just kind of pins our ears back when he deals with this subject of sin, not only the

sin of the of the pagan but the sin of the so-called religionist and after he deals

with sin then when we're ready for salvation he deals with sin, then when we're ready for salvation, he deals with

salvation. You know, no man is ready for Calvary until he has first trembled at

Sinai, and so then he deals with salvation, but then after we're saved, we need to move on and be better Christian.

So then the great apostle Paul deals with sanct sanctification and then he gets very deep and very

philosophical and deals with the mysteries of forenation and election and predestination, all of these things we would just call the sovereignty
