Indyadmans were expected following the testimony of key witness Sanford Clark.

The 15-year-old gave a first-hand account of the horrors that took place on the

Weinville Ranch.

Sanford had undergone a physical examination after being taken into custody.

His back was found to be covered in burns and ray scars.

The long, thin shape of some marks resembled injuries

from a whip. Sanford described how his uncle would demand that his nephew attempt to flay him

with the instrument. Northcott seemed to derive pleasure from the experience, but soon after

the whipping began, North Cod grew

visibly aroused, and his pleasure turned to anger. He would grab the whip from Sanford's hands,

push his nephew to the floor, and then in turn whip Sanford repeatedly. The pain was so unbearable the boy often passed out.

The abuse occurred at night when the ranch was quiet except for a restless chicken or the distant

howl of a coyote. Neighbors made out a noise of something that wasn't nocturnal animals. They could hear

Sanford Clark screams. However, they decided that what went on was none of their business.

Inside the ranch house, religious paraphernalia and biblical photos hung on the wall above a handmade wood an altar.
