US Air Flight 1493, a Boeing 737 with 89 people on board, is about a land at Los Angeles'

LAX Airport. After an uneventful flight from Columbus, Ohio, the crew is trying to contact

the tower to confirm they are cleared to land on runway 24-left. After a short delay,

the tower gets back to the crew and confirms they are cleared to land on 24-left. The plane

touches down smoothly and as the nose of the plane comes down and the gear touches the runway,

the pilots realize to their horror that there is another plane on the runway. With no time

to evade, the 737 slams into the back of the plane on the runway and they both burst into

flames and skid off the runway immediately. Why was there another plane on the runway?

Good morning. We're breaking the illusion good afternoon. Maybe good evening depending on

when you're listening. Oh, that's true. Well, it's good morning for us. You made me gasp

whenever it's like a touches ground and then there's another plane on the runway. I was like,

yeah. We'll get into the nitty gritty of it, but the pilots of the 737 do not see the

other plane as they're coming into land and they don't see it even when their main landing gear

touches down. It's not until like the nose because you know, the nose of the plane is still up for

a little bit. It's not until the nose comes down and the nose gear touches the runway that they see.
