| 0:00.0 | Friends, welcome to Word on Fire Catholic Ministries. Word on Fire is an |
| 0:05.7 | apostolate dedicated to the mission of evangelization using media both old and |
| 0:11.8 | new to share the faith on every continent and to facilitate an encounter with |
| 0:16.9 | Christ and His Church. The efforts of Word on Fire engage the culture and bring |
| 0:22.2 | the transformative power of God's Word where it is most needed. Today we invite |
| 0:28.3 | you to join Bishop Robert Barron as he preaches the gospel and shares the |
| 0:32.8 | warmth and light of Christ with each one of us. |
| 0:39.6 | Peace be with you. Friends, today is the great feast of the presentation of the |

| 1:13.9 | kid would say, you know, my parents dedicated me to God when I was a child. They |
| 1:19.8 | took me into church and made an act of dedication to God. I was always very |
| 1:24.1 | moved by that when I said, well, yeah, it worked. You know, you dedicated this |
| 1:28.6 | child and then many years later he discerns a vocation. So that's beautiful. I |
| 1:32.9 | got nothing at all against that wonderful thing. But there's a lot more going on |
| 1:37.7 | here in our story about Jesus than that. And to understand it, the church gives us |
| 1:45.7 | the somewhat enigmatic reading from the book of the prophet Malachi. It's our |
| 1:49.7 | first reading for today. Malachi by the way is the last book of the Old Testament. |
