We live in a world gone wrong and it is gone wrong because we're living in a fallen world.

And about the time you start looking at all the sinners around you and all the things that are not going right in our culture and in our society, suddenly we are reminded that we have also gone wrong.

Yes, yes, there's hope in the name, the name of our Lord. We've been studying,

of course, so many of his names, and today we come to one that has deep doctrinal implications,

a lot of doctrine wrapped up in this name, but also praise God a lot of application to us.

It's found in Jeremiah chapter 23, and it is a name that I think is most precious. Jeremiah 23, verse 5 says, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise

unto David a righteous branch, and a king shall reign and prosper and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

In his days, Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell safely and this is his name

whereby he shall be called the Lord our righteousness. And if you're looking in your Bible at Jeremiah 23, verse 6,

you'll see that entire name is in all capital letters,

the Lord are righteousness.
