John, I'm coming to you from very cold Ohio where

we had some really good news this week. Our State House of Representatives

voted to overturn the veto from our Governor Mike DeWine of House Bill 68 which is was called the

Safe Act. This stops so-called transgender surgeries and puberty blockers and basically medical interventions for kids under 18 who say they're struggling with their gender and it also would block boys from competing against girls in girls sports leagues in the state.

So the governor had vetoed this bill kind of surprisingly right after Christmas and the

House voted this Wednesday to overturn that veto. The Senate will vote later this month, I believe on the 24th, but the Senate has even more support to override the veto than the House did.

So I think most people are expecting that. They will do that. and then the law can take effect. So we were kind of shocked that the governor overturned this bill, but we're excited that the veto was overridden.

And then there's a similar situation going on in Missouri, so lawmakers there also passed a bill banning

so-called gender affirming health care, which as we all know is a euphemism that would be funny

if it weren't so high stakes, But after the legislature passed that in Missouri,

there was obviously a lawsuit challenging it.

This week, a circuit court judge said

that the law can't be banned from going into effect while the
