Hello and welcome to Coffeehouse Shots, aspectancies daily and sometimes more than daily,

politics podcast. I'm Katie Balls and I'm joined by James Forsythe and Isabel Hardman.

The Prime Minister has just been speaking in the chamber where he has unveiled his

roadmap to recovery. Isabel, there are nerves ahead of this that it could be a very cautious

approach. Number 10, we're very keen to tell everyone to be very cautious. It consists of four stages.

So how slow is the Prime Minister planning to go when it comes to the route out of lockdown?

So he is putting an emphasis on the need to proceed cautiously so that this is not the penultimate lockdown.

We don't end up going back into restrictions again.

And these steps will take place with at least five weeks in between them, because it

takes four weeks for the new measures to have an impact. And so the next move will basically

be based on whether the data suggests that infection rates are manageable for the NHS or

whether or not that they are spiraling. So the steps set out in this roadmap document all have a no earlier than date on them.

And for the next few weeks, life won't be that much different for most people.

We've got schools returning, which is obviously a big change.

But beyond that, there's very little changing

until the 29th of March when things will start to open up a little bit in that the rule of six

will return for outdoor mixing, for instance. And then from mid-April, if the data supports it,

will start to see retail and outdoor attractions reopening as well, but

still with indoor mixing band. And it won't be until at least the 21st of June when life

will really start to return to normal, which is quite a long time. And there's a couple of lines

which stand out in this roadmap, which is about 60-odd pages. It says that the government is going to update
