He checks the notes from the clipboard, a Mr. Edwin Carter 43 years old.

Brought in two days ago with severe dehydration, stomach cramps and vomiting. Suspect to gastroenteritis.

Currently on a course of sipprofloxacin, it's a good, broad spectrum antibiotic.

Whatever Mr. Carter's got, this should sort it out.

Except, it isn't. Mr. Carter's gaunt and his skin is turning yellow.

His white blood cell in platelet count is steadily shrinking. He's agitated and unsettled.

And he's still throwing up.

Dr. Virtus studies the notes again. He's an optimist, but right now, he's at a loss to explain what's making Mr. Carter sick.

Mr. Carter's throat is now so swollen he's having problems speaking.

With ease determined to say something, so Dr. Virtus puts his ear close and listens.
