Greetings and welcome to give him 15. I'm C.C. Sheets and today I've given my husband the day off.

I'm a very private person and haven't yet shared this, but on December 31st, 2021, I was struck with an illness but incapacitated me for the next year of my life.

I was in a wheelchair for the first two months, then used a cane, unable to drive for six months,

and life didn't return to basic normal for 10 to 12 months.

I was diagnosed by a specialist at the Medical University of

South Carolina with unilateral vestibular neuritis, and it was debilitating. I had lots of prayer,

physical therapy, and lots of time with Jesus. During that season, I became reacquainted with what

really mattered, what was truly important in my life. I had lots of time to evaluate and assess my

life. I'm a go-getter, a fixer. I work to make other people happy and take care of them, mostly my family.

I find value in serving others, and I love doing it. I like to fix problems and make others' lives

easier. I like to organize, find solutions. But in 2022, life flipped, and I had to be served

and helped. It wasn't comfortable for me, but it was essential nonetheless. As I had those

long conversations with Jesus, I made some life-altering decisions. I realized that

Cece needed to slow down and not take life quite so seriously. My daily checklist of tasks

really didn't have to be accomplished today.

Some can spill over till tomorrow or even next week.

My desk doesn't have to be tidy at the end of the day or the floor swept before I go to bed.

I learn to take deep breaths, enjoy hearing the birds sing, and think more about those whom I love, and that's where I'm leading up to.

It was important to me that my husband of 46 years be celebrated well for his 70th

birthday. Dutch gives and gives.

He spends hours each day studying and praying about the given 15 posts and the assignments God has given him.
